Recurring Transactions

Set up recurring transactions once and Budgetwise creates them on schedule.

What Are Recurring Transactions?

Any transaction that happens on a regular basis:

  • Monthly: Rent, mortgage, subscriptions, loan payments
  • Weekly: Allowances, regular transfers
  • Biweekly: Paychecks

Instead of manually entering these every time, set them up once and they run on autopilot.

Setting Up a Recurring Transaction

  1. Go to an Account
  2. Click Add Transaction
  3. Fill in the details (payee, amount, category)
  4. Toggle Recurring
  5. Set the frequency (weekly, biweekly, monthly)
  6. Set the start date
  7. Save

Managing Schedules

View all your recurring transactions in one place:

  1. Go to the Budget page
  2. Upcoming scheduled transactions appear in the sidebar

From here you can edit, pause, or delete any schedule.

Tips

  • Set up income first — Your paycheck schedule helps you plan when to assign money
  • Include all fixed expenses — Rent, utilities, insurance, subscriptions
  • Review monthly — Cancel subscriptions you’re not using
